Belgian's band with the highest degree of "rock & roll".

Started as a bunch of angry young men in 1982 and made a smashing knock on the door debut with a few singles and the mini-album "Here's to you Gang". The group was at the time most often compared with The Clash. After a less well-received second album "For all the wolf calls", the group starts searching for a new direction. This is found on the album "Skintight" and in the person of W. Willy "the Sir Keith of Richards of Belgian Rock music". Ironically the Scabs find their way to a much broader audience with the muted singles "Stay", "Halfway home" and the beautiful "Crystal Eyes". The albums however contain loud rocking music. The next two records get a gold status even before their release and the hits keep coming : "Don't you know", "Robbin' the liquor store", "Nothing on my radio", "She's jivin'", "Hard times", "Hard to forget" ... and a whole bunch of brilliant other songs. This is the second golden period of the Scabs. In 1992, they finally get another place at Torhout-Werchter after another very good album "Jumping the tracks" .
After 1993, it somehow seems to get more difficult to get their act together on album. Their live-reputation however remains untainted, and is recorded for their offspring on the double live album "Live dog".

The band keeps searching for the right combination. The 1993 album, produced by Mike Vernon, gets received also received very well. "Dog days are over" is the best Scabs album !
Willy Willy steps out of the band in 1994 and is replaced by the former guitarist of Clouseau, T. Berghmans.

This move prolongs their career for a good year and another good lp "Sunset over Wasteland", but doesn't manage to revitalize the band. At the end of 1996, G. Swinnen decides to call it a day and Belgiums finest rock band : The Scabs is no more. Source

PS: In 2007, the Scabs were reformed to reinterpret their album "Royalty in Exile" on stage with the same line-up that had recorded it. It seems that the band is touring in Belgium this summer. Please check the song "She's jivin'"!

Leena Chandavarkar was born in North Karnataka in the Karwar–Dharwar region. She is from the Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin community. Leena studied at Bassel Mission Girl's high school, Dharwar for some years. She won a talent competition when she was 15 and after that she went to Mumbai to try her luck in acting.

In 1974, after several successful films like Humjoli, Manchali and a total of some 40 films, the actress married Siddharth Bandodkar, the son of Dayanand Bandodkar the first chief minister of Goa.

Unfortunately, Leena's husband died in an accident. Later Leena married the singer actor Kishore Kumar in 1980 until his death in October 1987. She has son with him Sumeet Kumar.

Leena also appeared as a guest judge for the first 2 episodes of "K for Kishore", a new reality TV singing show launched by Sony TV during December 2007.

Initially Leena Chandavarkar worked in advertisements but eventually ventured into films. The actress made her debut in Man Ka Meet. Between 1969-1979, Leena acted in many films. Leena gave one of her best acting performances in Mehboob Ki Mehndi with Rajesh Khanna in 1971.

Bairaag is another example where Leena acted against the great screen legend Dilip Kumar and a mighty star cast like Saira Bano,Prem Chopra and the lovely Helen.

Leena made her remarkable presence in the bollywood industry during her film career by giving outstanding performances.

Microsoft Soapbox to Shutdown

MSN will no longer offer Soapbox!! Soapbox was Microsoft's version of user generated video service and was also a part of MSN Video. Sadly it has met the grave and will be laid to rest on August 31, 2009. Microsoft Soapbox was considered to be the tech giant’s answer to Google’s most-popular video sharing service YouTube. The demise was announced via a formal e-mail a few minutes ago.

Microsoft hasn't completely backed out of the video sharing/streaming market though - as MSN Video will remain online. MSN Video gets roughly about 88 million unique visitors per month that translates to 480 million video streams a month. On the other hand Soapbox was getting a mere less than 5% of what MSN Video gets. So, it was quite obvious that the service need to be shut down. Hope Soapbox videos don't get listed on Irish buy and sell web site.

So maybe you need to download and upload onto youtube for greater prosperity!! JavaBean - A Java Bean is a software component written in the Java programming language that conforms to the JavaBeans component specification. It is an API for objects which expose their properties via standard naming convention (getXXX(), setXXX(), isXXX()). These properties can be determined at runtime via reflection and introspection. For true JavaBeans, they should be Serializable and have a default constructor. The orginal intent was to make them easy for tooling (tools could discover their properties, expose them to configuration, etc.).

The JavaBeans APIs became part of the "core" Java APIs as of the 1.1 release of the JDK.

EJB - Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) are Java-based software components that are built to comply with Java's EJB specification and run inside of an EJB container supplied by a J2EE provider. It is an "enterprise" api for distributed objects. Provides a standard approach to building such objects and allowing an EJB container (EJB application server) to manage the lifecycle of the beans. EJB's provide persistance, scalability, and distributed transaction support (via the container).

Hema Malini's Biography

Hema Malini was born on October 16, 1948. Hema is an Indian actress, director and producer, as well as a Bharatanatyam dancer-choreographer. Making her acting debut in Sapno Ka Saudagar (1968), she went on to appear in numerous successful Bollywood films, most notably those with actor and future-husband Dharmendra.
Hema Malini was initially promoted as "Dream Girl", and in 1977 starred in a film of the same name. Hema also played double-roled in 1972s Seeta Aur Geeta as the top female star in Bollywood. She became one of the reigning divas of the Bollywood film industry, and her fans called her The Dream Girl of Bollywood

Hema starred in many movies throughout the 70s and 80s and is remembered for her glamour, style, and accomplished classical dancing. She formed a hit pair with Dharmendra, and the duo performed a number of hit movies like Sholay, Charas, Aas Paas, Jugnu, Seeta Aur Geeta, The Burning Train. She also achieved some strong dramatic or comic moments in films like Trishul, Joshila, Lal Patthar, Meera and Satte Pe Satta.

Unbelievable Technicians at Shuwaikh car repair shops were having a normal day at work, when suddenly a nervous looking LION came out of no where…seemingly hungry because of how skinny his body looks. Workers freaked out, jumping over each other, some locking themselves up in cars, some in the offices, and some just ran away…but one brave guy took the picture of this Lion without making a sound….and there was the SHOCK when the Lion turned around…nobody could believe it… check it out after the break.

Nutan started her career as actress as a 14 year old in Hamari Beti (1950). This film was produced by her mother, Shobhana. In 1952 she was the winner of Miss India.

First big break of the actress was Seema, for which she won a Filmfare Award. She followed her success with a romantic comedy, Paying Guest, in which she co-starred with Dev Anand.

In 1959 Nutan starred in two hit films, Anari (with Raj Kapoor) and Bimal Roy's Sujata (with Sunil Dutt). In the 1960s and 1970s she had many more successful films including Chhalia (1960), Bandini (1963), Saraswatichandra (1968), Devi (1970) and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978).

In the 1980s she played elderly mother roles in blockbuster films such as Meri Jung (1985), Naam (1986) and Karma (1986). Karma was notable for being the first time she was paired with actor Dilip Kumar. For Mere Jung she won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Her last film released while she was alive was Kanoon Apna Apna in 1989. She died in 1991 of cancer. Two of her films Naseebwala (1992) and Insaniyat (1994) were released after her death.

Nutan also received BFJA Best Actress Award: Bandini in 1963 and BFJA Best Actress Award: Milan in 1967.

Call this the second coming of the Saints, but the only thing this record has in common with previous Saints recordings is Chris Bailey . Still, it's a sharp, tuneful, and (ahem) mature work that shows Bailey's increasing confidence as a singer and songwriter. One listen to songs as grabbing as "Celtic Ballad" or the great "Just Like Fire Would" (which is kind of a neat pun) will convince you that despite the differences, the new Saints were a good band for completely different reasons than the old Saints. On this album, the Saints shift gears yet again. A Little Madness to Be Free takes the band (which is actually just a vehicle for singer Chris Bailey at this point) in a denser more layered direction. This time, brass and strings dominate with lush acoustic guitars underneath. Obviously, any trace of the punk band that was, is gone. The power, however, remains. Like it's follow up, the devastating "All Fools day" this record explores the depths of irony, and the ironies of depth. Through exploration of the soul there is (musical at least) redemption. From the incredibly beautiful photo of a bay at sunset on the album cover, to the opening track, "Down the Drain," the tone is set. "Still I think it's better to stand out in the rain/ then go slipping on down the drain," Bailey sings. A melancholy rainy day vibe so damn gray it's vibrant.

You can't help but be transported by it. This is the kind of album that makes you think about stuff. Stuff you'd rather not think about, like, "what the hell have I done with my life." Somehow there is catharsis, so the end result is not an overall bummer. The somber and powerful, "Photograph" tells of a lost love, and the beautiful, "Angels" will leave you singing along ("we can't waste another day") to the point of wanting to play the track again.

The album concludes with one of Bailey's all time classic songs, "Ghostships," a track so amazing he went and put it on several more albums, re-recording it twice. While electric guitars are not the centerpiece of the sound here, the layers make for an equally powerful experience. Suprisngly, there are really no keyboards to speak of, which is very unusual for a non-guitar rock album. By this point in his career, Chris Bailey had come into his own as an arranger and it really shows. Certainly one of their most obscure discs, but ultimately as rewarding as the classics, "I'm Stranded", "Eternally Yours" and "All Fools Day". Allmusic
